Touring to Madhabkunda waterfall

The most renowned waterfall in Bangladesh is Madhabkunda waterfall. It is situated in Barlekha Upazila, Moulvibazar. The distance from Dhaka is 180km and from Sylhet is 84 km. It is the highest waterfall in Bangladesh. Once upon a time, this is the only waterfall in Bangladesh but nowadays so many waterfalls found in different places in this country. The name of this hill is Patharia. This waterfall is almost 185 feet high. Fallen water from hills going by a canal called Madhabchara and it goes directly to Hakaluki Haor. Lots of big tea garden is here at the entry point of Madhabkunda waterfall also with orange, lemon garden. There is also another waterfall named Parikunda waterfall and it is nearby from this place around 20 minutes walking distance.

The most interesting time to visit Madhabkunda waterfall in the rainy season. Because in this season tourist will get the real beauty of it.

How to reach Madhabkunda waterfall, Moulvibazar:-

The best way to reach Madhabkunda by bus and train. Tourist can go from Capital Dhaka and also all the different places of Bangladesh. Buses like Green line, Shohag Paribahan, Hanif, Shyamoli, Unique, and Mamun from Dhaka to Sylhet. Some are AC and NON-AC buses. AC buses fare is around 1200 BDT and NON-AC fare is 500 BDT. Tourist can get tickets from Bus Counter in Gabtoli, Kalyanpur, Saydabad and Arambag every day from 5.30 am to 11.30pm. From Dhaka, it takes around 4.30 hours with one journey break to reach in Moulvibazar.

If any tourist wants to go by train they need to buy tickets of Upaban express From Kamalpur railway station. Train fare is around 300-1200 BDT by seat category. It starts at 10 pm and will take mostly 6.30 hours to reach Kulaura railway station by 4.30am. From Kulaura station it is 36km away. So need to reserve a CNG directly to Madhabkunda. The fare will be around 350 BDT.

Tourist can come also from Sylhet main town by bus. It will take around 2 hours. The fare is around 120 BDT.

Where to stay in Moulvibazar Sylhet:-

Nowadays for this tourist attraction so many hotels and rest houses to stay in Moulvibazar, Sylhet. Room rent around 2000-6000 BDT per night. The best hotel to stay is Rest inn hotel, and a resort called Dusai resort.

Food Cost:-

There are a few good restaurants in Moulvibazar to eat. But the famous in there is Panshi. Many items tourist can get to it. Meal cost around 200 to 500 BDT by items. Tourist can go easily by auto rickshaw which will cost you 20-100 BDT (vary by place distance).

Local transport cost:-

Moulvibazar city auto rickshaw cost around BDT 20-100 BDT per trip and depends on distances.
